Exploration of style while creating something with meaning and symbolism
Overview
Design in Form is a personal exploration project, four posters made to answer one question: What does design mean to me? Rather than solving a user problem or meeting a brief, this was about turning inward and figuring out my own visual voice. The result is a set of posters that reflect how I think about design: free, empathetic, abstract, and always shifting.
The Work
My design rationale sits somewhere between detailed, layered compositions and stripped-back minimalism, and these posters lean into that tension rather than resolving it. I was drawn to visual symbolism (flowers, lines, organic forms) and the idea that imagery can carry meaning without spelling it out. Each poster uses strong colour contrast, intentional blur to direct focus, and line work to create balance and guide the eye. All assets were made and edited in Adobe Express, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Reflection
This project gave me language for something I'd been doing naturally. I came out of it with a clearer sense of how my style adapts to mood and message and more confidence in presenting work that's personal rather than purely functional.
